What is SmartDeal?

With SmartDeal bulk share dealing we pool sales or purchases together into a bulk trade on our monthly SmartDeal day. As a result you can make useful savings on your dealing fees, as SmartDeal rates are lower with commission on online trades just £5.

SmartDeal is only available in an Equiniti Investment Account or Equiniti ISA.

A wide range of investments to choose from

You can view the stocks which you can buy or sell using SmartDeal on our SmartDeal stocks list. If none of these takes your fancy you can still invest in a very wide range of other stocks, bonds and funds using our other dealing arrangements from just £12.50.

When is the SmartDeal day?

SmartDeal day is on the 18th of every month (or the next working day if the 18th falls on a weekend or a bank holiday).

How to place a SmartDeal

In order to place a SmartDeal you will need an Equiniti Investment Account or an Equiniti ISA. Click here to find out more about these accounts. You can open an account quickly and easily online. Once your account is open, log in and select SmartDeal from the left hand navigation to place your SmartDeal instruction.

Your buy or sell shares instructions must be placed:

Online: by midnight on the day before the SmartDeal day;

Telephone: by calling 0845 300 0430 and placing your instruction before 4:30pm on the last working day before the 18th.

Linked sales and purchases

You can also link a sale and a purchase using SmartDeal. This would allow you to use sale proceeds from one stock to buy stock in another company.
