Stamp Duty and SDRT are UK taxes that may be payable on certain share transfers. SDRT is payable on share transfers where no physical document is used while Stamp Duty is payable when a physical document is used. As a general rule, if no money is changing hands then the transaction is not liable for SDRT, and Stamp Duty is not payable on transactions for £1000 or less.
