Digital shares held within a Corporate Sponsored Nominee (CSN) are held electronically—no paper certificates are issued. They are recorded in a separate register maintained by Equiniti.

Choose how you would like to buy shares

If you do not already hold shares in the CSN for the company whose shares you wish to purchase, you must first purchase paper share certificates and then transfer them into the CSN.

To buy CSN shares online, you must:

Have a UK address

Be buying shares in a company where Equiniti manages a CSN.

Have your National Insurance number (if you’re a sole UK national).

Have your debit card details.

Have your shareholder reference number for an active CSN holding in the company you wish to purchase more shares in.

If you do not already hold shares in the CSN for the company whose shares you wish to purchase, you must first purchase paper share certificates and then transfer them into the CSN.

How to transfer paper certificates into a CSN

  1. Go to the Useful Documents page.
  2. Under'Document type', select 'CSN Terms and Conditions' to review all the available CSN companies and their specific Terms and Conditions.
  3. Then, under 'Document type', choose 'CSN Form D'.
  4. Download and complete the 'CSN FORM D' (or the company-specific Form D if appropriate)
  5. Post the completed version to the address on the form.
