Many UK companies are simplifying shareholders' dividend payments meaning that cheques will no longer be issued.
If you still receive cheques, you can provide your bank or building society account details so that future dividend payments and any other money payable to you in connection with your shares can be made by direct payment.
This will avoid any delay to you receiving payments.
Switch to direct payment using any of the following ways with your Shareholder Reference and nominated account details ready to hand:
Questions about direct payment
Dividends will be paid directly to your UK bank or building society account on the payment date so you don't need to wait for a cheque to arrive in the post or to clear in your bank account.
You can check which companies offer the option to re-invest dividends and find out how to apply by visiting our Reinvest my dividends page. Alternatively, if you have a Shareview Portfolio, you can also find out more when you login and can apply online.
You will still need to provide your bank details to us for any cash payments that may be made.
If you are a shareholder of a company that has stopped paying dividends by cheque, you will not receive your dividend payment. Your dividends will not accrue interest while they are being held for you and there may be a fee for the release of payments.
Please contact us via the contact forms below detailing the cheques you have found, and we will get back to you. Please note that dependent on the value of the cheque(s) outstanding, there may be a fee for re-issuing payment(s).
Yes, the quickest way to do this is if you have a Shareview Portfolio where you can make the change online. Otherwise, you can complete a mandate form and return it to us by post or complete the "Provide bank details" contact form below to notify us about the change of account.
If you have a UK bank or building society account, you can provide the details online using Shareview Portfolio, otherwise you can use phone or post options.
If you do not have a UK bank or building society account we offer an Overseas Payment Service. The dividend will be credited to your account automatically - normally just a few days after the company's dividend payment date.
