Tax Information
The abrdn plc Share Portal service allows you to access a range of information about your shareholdings with abrdn plc, via the internet. This includes holding details (such as name and address), indicative share prices, recent balance changes and dividend information. It also includes details of employee schemes and the abrdn Share Account that we administer.
We use software to encrypt any personal data transferred between your browser, the abrdn Share Portal and our trusted digital identity provider. Personal data is securely stored for 6 years and is deleted after this period.
You can only gain access to your own information using your Username /ID, date of birth and your Password.
Additionally through the registration process you will be required to enter some memorable information. In the event of a forgotten or lost Username and / or Password you will be required to enter this memorable information before you can regain access to your abrdn plc Share Portal.
At present there is no charge for using the service. Provided you have a shareholding with abrdn plc and have a computer with access to the internet, you can create an abrdn plc Share Portal Account free of charge.
The abrdn plc Share Portal service is all about giving you access to information about your holdings. Once logged into your abrdn plc Share Portal Account you can select the 'Buy/Sell' option in the Quick Links menu and you will be redirected to where you will be able to buy and sell shares. Please note that you are only able to add to an existing holding if you are buying shares in an abrdn Share Account.
If you sell shares, the balance will usually be updated in your abrdn plc Share Portal holding within a day of the share register being changed. If shares are bought or sold through the market, the share register changes on the 'settlement' date. This is usually 5 or 10 days after the bargain date and is shown on the contract note from the stockbroker or share dealing service making the trade.
To register for a Share Portal Account please select the 'Register' button and follow the onscreen instructions

If at any time you want to opt out of receiving EQ communications, you can do so through the My Details page once you have logged in.
At this stage you also have the opportunity to read the Terms and Conditions as well as the opportunity to check all of the details you have entered in this stage are correct. When you select the 'Sign up now' button you accept these and will proceed to step 3 where your details will then be verified by our trusted digital identity provider.
If there are any further details that require validation you will be asked to call our helpline on 0371 384 2464. This is available between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm (UK time) Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays in England and Wales). Please have your SRN to hand.
If your identity is successfully validated, you will be able to log in to your portfolio account and have full access to the services.
If your identity remains unvalidated you will be asked to call our helpline on 0371 384 2464. This is available between the hours of 8:30am and 5.30pm (UK time) Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays in England and Wales). Please have your SRN to hand.

Please ensure that the address Equiniti has registered for you is your correct current address.
If the registered address details Equiniti holds for you are incorrect you can amend these by completing and sending us a Change of Address form.

If you have forgotten your memorable information, please register for a new portfolio using an alternative email address or username, and add your shareholdings to start fresh.

You can obtain your username/ID and reset your password using your memorable information. You can do this by following these steps:
If you have forgotten the memorable information you provided when you upgraded or registered for your Share Portal Account, you will not be able to retrieve your Username/ID or password through our standard processes.
In this instance you will be required to re-register for a new abrdn plc Share Portal Account.
If you are logging into your abrdn Share Portal and you see the ‘Multiple Registrations’ screen this means that we have identified that you have registered for more than one account.
This might have occurred through carrying out multiple registrations when you have forgotten your memorable information, or you might have purposely set up separate abrdn Share Portal accounts to hold details of different holdings.
On the 'Multiple Registrations' screen you can remove any abrdn Share Portal accounts which you no longer wish to access by selecting the relevant account by clicking the checkbox next to it, and then clicking on the ‘Proceed’ button. This abrdn Share Portal account will then be removed and will no longer show when you log in.
If you require your additional abrdn Share Portal accounts to be retained you can select the ‘Proceed’ button anyway and continue to access your account as normal. However each time you log in you will be notified that multiple accounts exist for you.
If you do not wish to be notified of multiple abrdn Share Portal registrations in the future you can select the ‘I do not want to see this message again’ checkbox on the ‘Multiple Registrations’ page and the click the 'Proceed' button.
Please note that if you choose not to view the ‘Multiple Registrations’ screen again, Equiniti continues to reserve the right to delete Share Portal Accounts that have not been accessed within 18 months as described in the Terms and Conditions.
This message is displayed by earlier versions of Internet Explorer and is due to the expiry date of one of the security certificates held by the browser.
In fact, this should not affect the security of abrdn Share Portal and if you click "continue", you should still be able to establish a secure link with the site.
