Sell, Transfer or Donate the Shares

If the sole shareholder or one of the joint shareholders has died, the death will need to be formally registered before the Postal Share Dealing service can be used to sell the shares. This can either be done at the same time as submitting the Postal Share Dealing Form (full details are provided with the form) or click on the link below for full details.

Once the shares have been transferred into the beneficiary or beneficiaries name(s), they can also be sold through the Equiniti Shareview Dealing service.

If a Grant of Representation has been provided

Once you have provided formal documentation as described in Step 2, and if you haven't already instructed us to do so, you can then transfer the ownership of the shares.

If you are using the small estates service

When completing the small estates form you will be asked to confirm that you want to transfer the shares and who to. Once we have this instruction, we'll be able to complete your request.

Donate the shares to charity​

If you would like to transfer your shares to charity, please complete the Sharegift Transfer form.
